Roman Gonzalez and McWilliams Arroyo fight Saturday night at The Forum for the WBC, Lineal & The Ring Flyweight titles.

Roman Gonzalez enters this fight with a 44-0 record that includes 38 knockouts. This will be Gonzalez’s fourth fight since 2015, and he’s coming off a October win over Brian Viloria. Gonzalez does a good job of controlling the ring with his constant movement and terrific footwork. Gonzalez is an elite offensive fighter who likes to be aggressive, throws impressive combinations and clearly has knockout power. El Chocolatito is a rising star and one of the more exciting boxers in the sport. It’s really hard to find a weakness for Gonzalez, as the 28-year-old has crushed everyone he’s fought and hasn’t won a fight by decision since 2012. This will be Gonzalez’s fourth fight in California.

Roman Gonzalez vs. McWilliams Arroyo Boxing Preview, Pick, Odds, Prediction - 4/23/16

USA TODAY Sports

McWilliams Arroyo enters this fight with a 16-2 record that includes 14 knockouts. Arroyo has won five of his last six fights and is coming off a 2015 win over Victor Ruiz. Arroyo is an experienced fighter at 30 years old who has made his mark on the international level with three gold medals to his credit. Arroyo makes his opponent feel comfortable with constant pressure and does a nice job of working the body as well as the head. Arroyo is also well rested for this fight with it being his first bout in almost a year to the date. The concern with Arroyo is that he’s fought the same pretty much his whole career, making him very predictable against a skilled fighter. This will be Arroyo’s first fight in California.

This will be a nice test for Gonzalez, as Arroyo is certainly no slouch and has proven he has a big heart and a lot of toughness. However, Gonzalez is one of the better offensive fighters the sport has right now and is a true knockout artist on top of being extremely skilled in the technical aspects as well.

Gonzalez will be defeated at the end of this bout.
