Jhonny Gonzalez and Christopher Martin fight Saturday at the Deportivo Agustin Ramos Millan.
Jhonny Gonzalez enters this fight with a 60-10 record that includes 50 knockouts. Gonzalez has won six of his last eight fights and is coming off a April win over Justin Savi. Gonzalez is still rolling despite being 34 years old and having a ton of fights under his belt. Gonzalez is a knockout artist with a high boxing IQ and a left hook that ends fights when it lands clean. Gonzalez is the ultimate aggressive fighter who always shows up when he steps in the ring. The concern with Gonzalez is that his chin is questionable and age & workload may be catching up, as he lost twice last year. Gonzalez has fought much of his career in Mexico, his home country.

Christopher Martin enters this fight with a 29-7-3 record that includes nine knockouts. Martin has lost five of his last seven fights and is coming off a March win over Edgar Daniel Ahumada. Martin is in absolutely terrible form as he’s lost four of his last five fights and needed a recent win against a tomato can to boost his confidence. When boxing well, Martin has quick hands and despite a lack of overall power, three of his last six victories have come by knockout. The problem with Martin besides his current form is that he hasn't beaten many quality fighters and has an overall underwhelming resume to really judge his talent. This will be Martin’s second fight in Mexico.
Martin is simply in over his head here, as he has nothing for Gonzalez. The Mexican is too powerful, too aggressive and too experienced to lose this bout. There's a great chance we’re going to see Martin get knocked out for the second time in his career.
Gonzalez rolls in this fight easily in his home country.
