Dillian Whyte and Dave Allen fight Saturday at the First Direct Arena for the WBC International heavyweight title.
Dillian Whyte enters this fight with a 17-1 record that includes 14 knockouts. Whyte has won five of his last six fights and is coming off a June win over Ivica Bacurin. Whyte bounced back nicely from last years loss to Anthony Joshua with an impressive knockout. Whyte continues to stay busy since returning from his suspension in 2014, and he now has a chance to another title. Whyte has crazy power in both hands and is currently riding a streak of 13 start knockouts. After a competitive match last year, there’s a chance Whyte could get a rematch with Joshua if he continues to beat up everybody in his way currently. Whyte has fought his whole career in the United Kingdom, his current residence.

Dave Allen enters this fight with a 9-0-1 record that includes six knockouts. This will be Allen’s fourth fight since 2015, and he’s coming off a March win over Jason Gavern. Allen has been pushing for a big fight for a while, and this will easily be the biggest of his young career. The White Rhino has some decent pop in his punches and really knows how to jump on his opponent once he gets in his comfort zone and sees an opening to put him away. However, the concern with Allen is that he’s still a young fighter with just 32 rounds under his belt, so a lack of experience could hurt him here. Allen has fought his whole career in the United Kingdom, his birthplace.
Honestly, there’s no reason why Whyte shouldn’t win this fight rather easily. He’s more experienced, has more power and a better chin. We’re talking about a guy who went seven rounds with joshua. Allen doesn’t have anything Whyte hasn’t seen already.
Give me Whyte in convincing fashion.
