The Line: Boston College Eagles 22.5 -- Over/Under: 52 See the Latest Odds

TV: ABC/ ESPN2

The Florida State Seminoles travel to Boston College to face the Eagles on Saturday afternoon.

The Florida State Seminoles improved to 3-0 on the year after beating Bethune-Cookman 54-6 on Saturday. The Seminoles beat Pittsburgh on the road to start the season and followed that up with a win at home against Nevada. Red shirt freshman QB Jameis Winston has played outstanding so far this year but he has not faced tough competition so there is a lot more to be seen before I put him in the elite category of quarterbacks in the country. Winston has completed 50 of 64 passes for 718 yards with eight touchdowns and an interception so far this season. Winston has also rushed for 44 yards and two touchdowns for the Seminoles. RB Devonta Freeman leads the rushing attack with 273 yards and 2 touchdowns, while RB Karlos Williams has chipped in with 193 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. WR Kenny Shaw leads the receiving unit with 14 catches for 277 yards and a touchdown, while WR Rashad Greene has an impressive 15 catches for 209 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Seminoles defense is solid once again this season, holding their opponents to 26 combined points thru three games. Florida State will have another easy opponent this weekend, but they will have to continue to show that they can bring their A game on the road.

Boston College Eagles vs. Florida State Seminoles Free Pick 9/28/13

Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

Boston College is coming off a bye week after dropping their first game at Southern California two weeks ago, 35-7. The Eagles won their first two games at home over Villanova and Wake Forest before getting dominated by the Trojans out west. QB Chase Rettig has completed 41 of 68 passes for 491 yards with four touchdowns and 1 interception so far this season. RB Andre Williams has played well for the Eagles, rushing for 356 yards on 75 carries with 2 touchdowns. WR Alex Amidon is arguably the best playmaker on this Boston College squad. Amidon has 20 catches for 262 yards and 2 touchdowns thru three games this season. The next receiver is Bobby Wolford, who has 7 catches for 88 yards and a score. The Eagles defense played well at home in the first two contests, holding them to 24 points combined in those wins. However, when Boston College hit the road in week three at USC, they allowed 521 yards and 35 points to an underwhelming Trojans team. The offense did not help the defense in that game, gaining only 184 total yards and struggling to stay on the field long enough to give the defense a breather. Boston College will once again have their hands full when the Seminoles come to town this Saturday.

The Seminoles are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. The over is 6-2-1 in the Seminoles last 9 games overall. The under is 4-1 in the Eagles last 5 home games.

Florida State has won the last three meetings against Boston College, including a 51-7 win at home last season. The only positive things Boston College has going for them is the fact that they have had two weeks to prepare for a far superior Seminoles squad. Winston and the Seminoles should be able to move the ball with ease against an average Boston College defense. Meanwhile, Rettig and the Eagles will have trouble putting up points against a stellar Florida State defense. I think this game might stay within a touchdown for the first quarter but at some point the Seminoles will score 21 straight and run away with the win on the road.
