The Navy Midshipmen take their option to L.T. Smith Stadium where the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers await.

Navy appears to have their option running on all cylinders with points flowing after a 2-0 start. The Middies racked up 41 to open the year with a win at Indiana before dominating my home town team, Delaware 51-7 in what I knew was a complete mismatch. Navy just never let up with 589 yards and a surprising 233 yards coming through the air with Keenan Reynolds completing 10-13 with scoring strikes of 29 yards and 63 yards as the Hens tried to stack the box and control the run. That didn't happen either with Navy rolling up 352 rushing yards and averaging over 5 1/2 yards per touch. Reynolds led the way with 109 yards on 15 carries with eleven others getting carries with the Middies emtying the bench.

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

Western Kentucky might be 2-2 on the year but they could very well be at least 3-1 as they turned the ball over seven times in a loss to Tennessee and looked uninterested in a 31-24 defeat at South Alabama. The Hilltoppers rebounded to thrash Morgan State 58-17 in week four but had better start putting things together going forward or this will be just another year. The boxscore was all Western Kentucky with a 588-317 edge in real estate although another three turnovers was disappointing. Four players got a shot under center and threw for 211 yards but it was the ground where Western Kentucky exerted themselves with 377 yards and just under nine yards per try. This was the Antonio Andrews show with 217 yards on 17 totes with five touchdowns.

Both teams will be pounding the ball on the ground because throwing the ball is not a strength. The question is which team can stop the other and I'm thinking neither which is why I like the over...
