The Florida Gators and the Arkansas Razorbacks face-off on Saturday in The Swamp for a college football battle of SEC teams.
The Florida Gators are off to a 2-0 start in SEC conference play, with their only loss coming at Miami. With QB Jeff Driskel gone for the year, the look of the Gators offense has changed, but they are averaging 23.8 points and 403 yards of offense per game. Tyler Murphy has taken over at QB, where he has completed 71.9 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and an interception, while averaging 7.1 per rushing attempt with two touchdowns. Matt Jones is averaging 4.7 yards per carry with two touchdowns and Mack Brown is averaging 3.8 yards per carry with three touchdowns. Trey Burton leads the Florida receivers with 20 catches and a touchdown, while Quinton Dunbar has 15 catches and Solomon Patton has 13 catches and two touchdowns. The Florida defense allows just 12.8 points and 202.5 yards per game with seven interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and nine sacks. Jaylen Watkins leads the UF defense with 22 tackles and Antonio Morrison and Michael Taylor have 20 tackles each. The Florida defense is far and away the stronger unit and clearly one of the best defenses in the nation.

The Arkansas Razorbacks started by winning their first three games of the season, but since then they have lost their last two. The Arkansas offense is averaging 29.2 points and 414.6 yards per game using two different QB’s, who have both been banged up. Brandon Allen has been the healthier QB, completing 53.8 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and three interceptions, while A.J. Derby has completed 56.2 percent of his passes with one touchdown. Alex Collins has been Arkansas’ best offensive player, averaging 6.0 yards per carry with three touchdowns, while Jonathan Williams is averaging 6.5 yards per carry with three touchdowns. Javontee Herndon leads the Razorbacks’ receivers with 14 catches and four touchdowns, Hunter Henry has 12 catches and Kiero Small has nine catches. The Arkansas defense allows 22.2 points and 336.4 yards per game with four interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and 15 sacks. Jarrett Lake has 38 tackles, Alan Turner has 36 tackles, and Chris Smith has six sacks. The Arkansas defense is going to need to step up if they hope to turn this season around.
Florida is 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 SEC games, 2-5 against the spread following a win, and 0-6 against the spread in their last six home games. Arkansas is 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games, 2-9 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-10 against the spread in their last 11 road games. Florida has covered the point spread in seven of the last eight meetings of these two.
Florida just hasn't put alot of points on the board but they have the weapons to do so and Arkansas' only chance is to put up numbers so expect to see this one go over and that is my free pick. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post who covers the point spread in the Premium Area.
