The North Carolina State Wolfpack travel to Wake Forest to play the Demon Deacons on Saturday afternoon.
The Wolfpack improved to 3-1 on the season after beating Central Michigan 48-14 on Saturday. NC State beat Louisiana Tech and Richmond to start the year before losing to Clemson at home. In the game against Central Michigan, the Wolfpack earned 483 total yards on offense. QB Thomas played great, completing 14 of his 20 passes for 244 yards with one touchdown and one interception. WR Underwood caught 5 balls for 148 yards and a touchdown, while WR Smith caught 3 balls for 39 yards. RB Thornton played well, rushing for 71 yards on 13 carries with one touchdown. The NC State defense allowed only 259 total yards, with only 94 coming on the ground. The Wolfpack have a stellar defensive line that has caused problems for even the elite teams, such as Clemson two weeks ago. If the defense can create some pressure up front against Wake Forest they should be in good position to grab a conference win on the road.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are 2-3 on the year after losing to Clemson in blowout fashion, 56-7, this past weekend. Wake Forest has also lost to Boston College and Louisiana-Monroe this year, while beating Army two weeks ago. In the loss against Clemson, Wake Forest was overmatched to say the least. The Demon Deacons produced 222 yards of offense, with only 60 yards coming on the ground. QB Price was only 14 of 22 for 125 yards and a touchdown. Star WR Campanaro was the lone bright spot once again for the Demon Deacons, catching 7 balls for 75 yards against Clemson. Wake Forest could not get their running game going, with RB Cameron and RB Martin combining for 39 yards in the loss. The Demon Deacons defense played awful, giving up 573 yards, with 407 coming thru the air. Wake Forest turned the ball over twice and did not do a good job getting off the field on 3rd down defensively. Wake Forest will have their work cut out for them as they host a solid NC State squad this weekend.
The Wolfpack are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 conference games. The home team is 6-0 ATS in their last meetings. The over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Wake Forest.
These two teams have split their last six meetings dating back to 2007. North Carolina State has great defensive front that should cause Price and the Wake Forest offense trouble all day long. The Wolfpack also have a legitimate quarterback that can make plays downfield once the rushing attack has been establish. I don’t like giving this many points on the road in conference play, but I have to side with the Wolfpack in this game.
