The Colorado State Rams visit War Memorial Stadium to take the field with the Wyoming Cowboys.
Colorado State had a good chance at knocking off San Jose State in week seven but a late touchdown dashed those hopes and dropped the Rams to 2-4 following a 34-27 defeat. The Rams had a decent offensive game with 447 yards but a pair of turnovers and 22 minutes of possession didn't stack up against the Spartans 608 yards. This boiled down to being unable to stop David Fales who threw for 431 yards and three touchdowns. The Rams weren't too shabby offensively with Kapri Bibbs and Donnell Alexander combining for 110 yards on 17 carries but CSU was much more effective in the air. Garrett Grayson went 19-34 for 310 yards with three touchdowns and a pair of interceptions.

Wyoming is proving to be an explosive offense with a capable defense that has resulted in a 4-2 record following a 38-31 decision over visiting New Mexico and their bruising rushing attack which was a bad match up for the Cowboys poor run defense. The Lobos ran for 257 yards but their problem was stopping dual threat quarterback Brett Smith which didn't happen. Smith completed 19-33 for 247 yards through the air with a touchdown and zero picks while also rushing for a game high 138 yards on 14 totes with a pair of trips to the end zone. Shaun Wick added another 116 yards on 17 tries with two more touchdowns. The Cowboys led 21-3 at the half and seemed to have a let up over the final 30 minutes and that could have cost them in a game that was well in hand.
I am favoring Wyoming with their high powered offense and decent defense but they have to play a full 60 minutes or they won't cover...
