The Colorado Buffaloes and the Arizona Wildcats face off on Saturday in a Pac-12 college football battle.
The Colorado Buffaloes are in the midst of a rebuilding process and while they might be improving they still have a lot of work ahead of them. The Colorado offense is averaging 28 points and 382 yards per game. Connor Wood has started at QB for the bulk of the season but in their past game it was Sefo Liufau who completed 69.6 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and two interceptions. On the ground Michael Adkins is averaging 6.4 yards per carry with four touchdowns and Christian Powell is averaging 3.5 yards per carry with two touchdowns. Paul Richardson is the leading CU receiver with 43 catches and six touchdowns and Nelson Spruce has 23 catches and two touchdowns. The Colorado defense is allowing 36 points and 443 yards per game with six fumble recoveries, 10 sacks, and seven interceptions. Addison Gillam has 67 tackles and two sacks, Derrick Webb has 42 tackles, and Parker Orms has 35 tackles. It has been a few years since Colorado has been relevant but it doesn’t seem like it will be too long before they are back.

The Arizona Wildcats ended their two game losing streak by knocking off Utah on Saturday in a game that looked like it was slipping away from them. The Arizona offense is averaging 35 points and 431.2 yards per game and they have turned the ball over six times. B.J. Denker has completed 55.5 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and two interceptions and he has rushed for 327 yards and eight touchdowns. Ka’Deem Carey has rushed for 8-1 yards and six touchdowns and he has caught 15 passes. Samajie Grant leads Arizona in receiving with 18 catches and Nate Phillips has 13 catches. Defensively Arizona is allowing 19.8 points and 369.2 yards per game with nine interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and nine sacks. Scooby Wright has 40 tackles, Jake Fisher has 40 tackles, and Marquis Flowers has 37 tackles. Arizona earned their first Pac-12 win of the season last week and they are going for two in a row here.
Colorado is 4-10 against the spread in their last 14 home games, 8-21 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-5 against the spread following a win. Arizona is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven Pac-12 games, 4-10 against the spread following a game which they covered the point spread, and 4-1 against the spread in their last five October games.
Colorado just doesn’t seem to be ready yet and while Arizona is still on the mid to lower tier in the Pac-12 they are a very small weak play here at best.
