The Army Black Knights and the Air Force Falcons collide at Falcon Stadium in week ten action.
Army is one of those teams that will surprise you with unexpected strong performances while also losing when least expected. I guess this means they are a bit unpredictable which I suppose is reflected in their 3-5 record. Disappointing is how I would classify their 33-14 defeat at Temple where Army trailed 26-0 at the break and were never really a factor. The Black Knights were killed by mistakes with four turnovers and their option was in trouble having to play catch up with little passing. The rushing attack produced 255 yards and averaged nearly 4 1/2 yards with Larry Dixon totaling 84 yards with Kelvin White 47 yards with a touchdown. White completed 7-16 throws for 79 yards and a TD but two picks for a team that doesn't throw was a killer.

It obviously hasn't been a season for the scrap books for Air Force with a season opening victory being the lone bright spot. The Falcons have dropped seven in a row following a 45-10 loss to visiting Notre Dame who contained the Falcons option on the way to a 466-339 advantage in real estate. The Falcons lost a pair of fumbles and couldn't stop Tommy Rees who threw for 284 yards and five touchdowns. AFA got their rushing yards with 290 but true to their nature mustered just 49 yards through the air. Nick Romine paced the ground attack with 79 yards followed by Anthony LaCoste with 59 yards. Romine completed 6-10 for 37 yards but once the Falcons fell behind by a pair of touchdowns they were in deep trouble with little passing to fall back on.
These teams will run the ball over 100 times and will continue to run regardless of the score which means whoever can get a lead has a distinct advantage. I'll back the Black Knights with all the points which provides a cushion...
