The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers look to save their season at the Georgia State Panthers.

I thought Western Kentucky would be a challenger in the Sun Belt but at 1-3 in the conference I was obviously off the mark. Strange because this team has no issue eating up the yards and possess a better then average defense but the one problem this team has had is holding on to the ball which has cost them more then once. WKU appeared to have rival Troy on the ropes with a 20-10 lead at the half before both sides of the ball failed to show up over the final 30 minutes in a 32-26 defeat. Once again the Hilltoppers racked up 532 yards with both the run and pass contributing. Antonio Andrews gave the rushing attack a boost with 144 yards and Brandon Doughty threw for 387 yards but finding the end zone after the break wasn't happening.

Many believe Georgia State is the worse team in football but I'm not sure that's the case although their 0-7 record is not something I can defend. The Panthers first season in big time football has seen the offense struggle to score while stopping opponents hasn't been a strength either. Both trends continued in a 38-10 defeat at the hands of Louisiana-Monroe in week nine. The Warhawks held a 533-244 edge in yardage with the ability to run and throw while were able to do some running but had to go to the air because of the scoreboard. The air waves were less then friendly with Ben McLane (10-21/86) misfiring often with a pick while Ronnie Bell completed 2-9 for 22 yards and a pair of interceptions.

The turnover prone Hilltoppers as a huge road favorite is a scary wager versus a team that is 5-2-1 ATS and I don't care if the Panthers haven't won a game. I suppose if Western Kentucky is going to make the postseason they better play like it here although I have no interest...

Western Kentucky -19
