The Colorado State Rams host the Nevada Wolf Pack in a Mountain West tilt on Saturday.
Nevada began the year winning three of four to open 2013 but have fallen on hard times since with four consecutive defeats following a 41-23 loss at Fresno State. The offense hasn't been putting up the big numbers we have seen in the past and have needed to with the defensive side of the ball struggling to get stops consistently. The Wolf Pack fell behind 24-7 entering the locker room and never recovered as the Bulldogs racked up 647 yards with Derek Carr throwing for 487 yards. Nevada mustered 424 yards with planty of balance with the ground attack piling up 218 yards with Kendall Brock and Cody Fajardo combining for 166 yards on 33 carries with Brock finding the end zone with a 43 yard TD jaunt. Fajardo went 14-24 for 206 yards and a pair of scores and a pick but the defense couldn't get stops.

Colorado State has been a pleasant surprise in 2013 but were served notice that there is plenty of room to get better following a 42-30 defeat at the hands of visiting Boise State. The offensive minded Rams piled up an impressive 626 yards yet still couldn't find the end zone as often as one would think. CSU led 17-14 at one point before the Broncos roared to a 42-17 lead which was game over despite a balanced Rams attack. The rushing game totaled 229 yards with the duo of Kapri Bibbs and Donnell Alexander combining for 136 yards on 34 totes with Bibbs scoring three times. Garrett Grayson ran for 48 yards but was explosive through the air, completing 36-53 for 397 yards and an interception with Charles Lovett and Rashard Higgins combining for 202 yards on 17 receptions.
Colorado State needs this game to stay in the postseason conversation but are they really good enough to be laying the points here? Nevada has potential to score and hang around so this is not a favorite of mine...
