The Florida International Golden Panthers host the Marshall Thundering Herd in week 13.

The Marshall scoring machine has positioned themselves well with a pair of games remaining. The Thundering Herd defeat FIU and the East Carolina next week and the CUSA East crown is theirs. Marshall is riding the momentum of a three game winning streak after knocking off Tulsa 45-34. This looked like a complete mismatch with the visitoe ahead 31-14 at the half before the usually dependable defense stumbled with the Golden Hurricane rattled off 34 unanswered points. Marshall was their own worse enemy with four lost fumbles and a pick but Rakeem Cato came to the rescue with 456 yards and five touchdowns with Devon Smith and Tommy Shuler combining for 216 yards on 16 catches and three TD's.

Florida International Golden Panthers vs. Marshall Thundering Herd Pick-Odds-Prediction - 11/23/13

Florida International is far removed from their Bowl appearance of several years ago with a 1-9 record in their first year as a member of the CUSA. The Golden Panthers have been out scored by an average of 37-10 which makes sense of their record. I'll say this team has been slightly better at home but now I'm pushing the envelope trying to find so,ething positive to say in a season of negatives. There wasn't too many positives in a 33-10 loss at Texas El Paso with the defense giving up 327 rushing yards while the offense mustered a mere 200 yards of their own. Lamarq Caldwell was the rushing attack with 95 yards on 20 carries which meant trying to move the chains through the air. That didn't happen with Jake Medlock and EJ Hilliard going a combined 8-23 for 89 yards.

Marshall has had some difficulty on the road while FIU hasn't done well any where but as I said they might be a bit better at home. This really isn't a game I will play or watch so I'm taking the points which won't be nearly enough if Marshall wants to run and gun...
