The San Diego Aztecs host the Boise State Broncos in Mountain West action Saturday.
I think we all know this hasn't been a typical season for Boise State but I also know the sky isn't falling with a 7-3 record being the envy of many teams. The Broncos have still been a solid team on both sides of the ball and both units were at their best in a 48-7 decision over Wyoming that gave the team back to back wins. BSU jumped to a 28-7 lead at the half and were never challenged with the Cowboys managing only 265 yards while amassing 524 yards with equal ability to run and throw. Devan Demas and Jay Ajayi combined 143 yards to form the bulk of the rushing attack with Ajayi adding three touchdowns. Grant Hedrick completed 27-36 for three scores and a pick with Matt Miller grabbing seven balls for 143 yards and all three TD's.

San Diego State stands at 6-4 after three consecutive victories with two more to play so a Bowl is very much part of their future. A 28-21 overtime decision versus Hawaii has the Aztecs primed for the postseason although the Warriors didn't make it easy. SDSU tied the game with around 2 1/2 minutes left before escaping in the extra session. Nearly 500 yards almost wasn't enough with four lost fumbles almost doing them in. The rushing attack mustered over 230 yards and averaged six yards per touch with Adam Muema (24-163) and Donnel Pumphrey (10-61) doing the damage. Quinn Kaehler missed on some throws but got his share of yardage by going 17-34 for 265 yards including a 56 yard strike for six to Colin Lockett. Hawaii had been scoring some points but were held to 355 yards with less then 200 coming through the air.
I look at the numbers and see a dangerous San Diego State squad but in my view Boise has the offense clicking which I think will be key to covering...
