The Western Michigan Broncos conclude the regular season with a visit to the Northern Illinois Huskies.
Western Michigan concludes the regular season looking to avoid a 1-11 year after squandering a second half lead in a 27-22 loss to rival Central Michigan. The defense played well enough to win but the offense struggled which has been a problem throughout 2013. The Broncos mustered 311 yards which tells us a lot about the scoreboard but a whopping five turnovers forced by the defense tells us this was a game that should have been won. Darevon Chance gave WMU a threat on the ground with 93 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown but Zach Terrell struggled through the air, going 14-37 for 147 yards and an interception which says the CMU turnovers didn't result in points.

The #16 Huskies are on the verge of an undefeated regular season with another conference championship within their grasp after downing Toledo 35-17 on the road. NIU trailed 10-7 at the half before Jordan Lynch and company got untracked with four touchdowns on the way to 566 yards and 29 first downs. The defensive side of the football has been over shadowed by the offense but were solid versus a good Rockets attack with 419 yards allowed with a fumble recovery and three interceptions. Lynch ran for 161 yards and three scores on 28 carries with Curtis Stingily turning 18 totes in to 146 yards with the Huskies totaling 346 rushing yards overall. Lynch was highly efficient through the air with 202 yards on a 17-22 performance with no miscues.
Anyone surprised about the massive spread? I don't know if Northern Illinois will care all that much once they get the lead because the only thing that matters to them is staying unbeaten and winning the MAC title so more of a lean then anything...
