The Boston College Eagles travel to Syracuse to play the Orange on Saturday afternoon.
Boston College improved to 7-4 overall, 4-3 ACC, after beating Maryland 29-26 last weekend. The Eagles produced 374 total yards on offense. RB Andre Williams rushed for 263 yards to become the 16th player in NCAA history to top 2,000 in a single season. QB Rettig completed 6 of 14 passes for 120 yards with 1 touchdowns and 1 interception. Boston College did turn the ball over 3 times, which kept Maryland in the game. The Eagles defense held Maryland to just 278 total yards and forced one turnover in the win. On the year, the Eagles rank 73rd in points scored this season, 28.2 a game, and rank 70th in points allowed, 27.3 per game. Rettig has thrown for over 1,600 yards and 15 touchdowns. Williams has had an outstanding year to say the least, rushing for 2,073 yards and 16 touchdowns. Amidon leads the team with 64 catches for 843 yards and 5 touchdowns. Boston College will head out on the road where they are 2-3 this season.

The Syracuse Orange are 5-6 overall, 3-4 ACC, after losing at home against Pittsburgh 17-16 last weekend. Syracuse produced 307 yards against Pittsburgh with a balanced attack, 159 passing and 148 rushing. QB Hunt completed 18 of 28 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown. WR Cornelius caught 2 balls for 53 yards and a touchdown. RB Smith carried the ball 17 times for 88 yards and a score. The defense played well, allowing only 239 yards and forcing 2 turnovers. On the year, the Orange rank a lousy 102nd in points scored, 21.8 per game, and rank 56th in points against at 25.6 per contest. Hunt has thrown for 1,180 yards and 8 touchdowns this season. Smith has rushed for 794 yards and 11 touchdowns this season for Syracuse. The Orange will try to avoid losing three straight games when they host Boston College at home; Syracuse is 3-3 at home this season.
These two teams have split the last four games with Boston College winning last year 16-7 in Syracuse. Boston College has won 4 straight games, while Syracuse has lost two straight contests. The Eagles will look to establish the run early and often against an average front seven for Syracuse. On the other side, Boston College should be able to slow down a Syracuse offense that has only scored 20 points or more once in the last five games. I think Boston College will keep rolling and earn a win on the road in the season finale.
