The Tulane Green Wave travel to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in both squads first meeting in the AAC.
The Tulane Green Wave enjoyed something of a breakout season a year ago simply because a postseason appearance doesn't happen often for this program. People will probably think another Bowl for Tulane is a long shot and it might be true if unproven quarterback Tanner Lee struggles as last year's starter Nick Montana is the backup and was little more then a 50% passer. The Green Wave receiving corps has enough options but few have made an impact which could change if more throws are on target. If the air attack struggles the backfield combo of Rob Kelley and Sherman Badie will be asked to carry Tulane behind a huge O-Line which leaves the defense to pick up the slack if points are at a premium.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane look for a huge rebound from 2013 where both sides of the football struggled with a 3-9 record being the end result. With Cody Green gone the Golden Hurricane are fortunate to return experienced Dane Evans who still needs to improve on his sub 45% completion rate to make this offense a threat. Keevan Lucas and Keyarris Garrett will be Tulsa's top receivers with high potential but unproven James Flanders shoulders the rushing game. The Golden Hurricane defense should have more to say in 2014 then a season ago but until they take the field any improvement is only on paper although this group should be better overall.
Neither offense looks intimidating and Tulane probably took a step back from a year ago while the Golden Hurricane attack is an unknown. The team's appear about even defensively so I'm inclined to lay the points which is probably not a popular pick...
