Aloha Stadium and the Hawaii Warriors play host to the Washington Huskies in the 2014 opener for both squads.
The Chris Peterson era begins at Washington as the former Boise State head man finally joins the ranks of 'major' college football. If he could get the talent at Boise he should certainly get it at Washington (or so that's how the thinking goes). The Huskies need a quarterback with Keith Price gone and will turn to backup Cyler Miles who brings in 61 passes and 418 yards to the position from 2013 but he might be suspended for the opener. With Bishop Sankey doing his running on Sundays UW has four players capable of forming a solid rushing attack with Dwayne Washington averaging seven yards per touch in '13. Jaydon Mickens is the top receiving option for the Huskies with Kasen Williams in the mix if his broken leg is 100%.

Hawaii used to be associated with a prolific passing attack but that hasn't been the label in recent years as the team has struggled to find an identity but that will happen when a team wins four games in two years. HC Norm Chow looks like he is going with Ikaika Woosley under center for the opener with Jeremy Higgins and Taylor Graham in backup roles although I think all three will see the field eventually. Scott Harding is the Warriors top receiver back with Vasquez Haynes and his 29 catches next in line while Joey Iosefa and Steven Lakalaka give UH potential on the ground that could be more of a factor with a veteran offensive line to run behind.
I initially thought Peterson in his first game would be the clear choice but the Huskies quarterback situation is a concern. I'll throw this out there and update if I see something about Miles...
