The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners take on the big offense of the Arizona Wildcats in Thursday night action.
The Arizona Wildcats went wire to wire to rout the UNLV Rebels 58-13 in the season opener. Once the Wildcats scored, they never stopped as the rolled up 787 yards and 32 first downs with the ability to run or throw whenever they pleased. Anu Solomon had a spectacular debut under center with 425 passing yards and four touchdowns while Samajia Grant and Austin Hill gave the Zona receiving corps 211 yards on seven catches with a TD each. The rushing attack was every bit as effective with Terris Jones-Grigsby and Nick Wilson adding a combined 228 yards on 20 totes with a trip to the endzone apiece. The D allowed a few big plays to the Rebels early but still kept their scoring in check.

The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners gave the Houston Cougars some payback for last season's defeat with a 27-7 rout that was as easy as the score indicates. The offense mustered only 263 yards but that was plenty with the defense handing this unit prime field position with four interceptions and a fumble recovery. UTSA received 124 pass yards from Tucker Carter who completed 15-24 throws in a very short air attack that was mistake free. The Roadrunners rushing attack was four yards and a cloud of dust with David Glasco II and Jarveon Williams combining for 137 yards with three tris to the endzone. The D was the star of the game after holding the Cougars attack to 213 yards and forcing mistake after mistake.
I saw both teams play and in week one and Arizona is very fast with one little gap in the defense resulting in a big play. Right now I'll back the Wildcats but I'll update Wednesday...
