The Washington State Cougars look to get in the win column with a week two match up with the Nevada Wolf Pack.
The Washington State Cougars lost a late lead and the game in a 41-38 defeat at the hands of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the season opener for both teams. The Cougars held a 538-496 edge in yardage but were unable to control the balanced Rutgers attack that could both run and throw. On the flipside, QB Connor Holliday led the pass heavy WSU offense with 532 yards with five touchdowns and a pick with Vince Mayle hauling in a game high 12 catches for 124 yards and a score while Isiah Myers grabbed two scoring tosses. The Cougars fumbled a punt at the 50 that eventually ended with the Scarlet Knights scoring the game winner with under 3 1/2 minutes left. The defense struggled with a 56 yard TD run and 78 yard scoring pass given up.

The Nevada Wolf Pack played just enough offense and defense to slip by the Southern Utah Thunderbirds 28-19 in week one. The boxscore was dominated by the Wolf Pack who amassed a 547-380 edge in total yards while holding the ball for 41 minutes. Cody Fajardo threw for 303 yards as Nevada owned the air with Jerico Richardson hauling in 13 receptions for 177 yards. The Wolf Pack also moved the ball on the ground with Don Jackson enjoying a 110 yard night with a TD while Fajardo added 68 yards and a score. The Performance was far from perfect with the Thunderbirds scoring on an 85 yard pick six, a 71 yard run and 39 yard pass.
Even though Washington State lost to Rutgers in the opener I think they are the choice here as an 0-2 start to the season would be tough to rebound from...
