The Line: Army Black Knights +1 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Army Black Knights turn their option attack loose on the visiting Buffalo Bulls Saturday.
The Jeff Monken era begins at Army in 2014 as the program seeks a return to the postseason for the first time since 2010. Angel Santiago was the incumbent at quarterback for the Black Knights with eleven starts a season ago but he has dropped to third on the depth chart with AJ Schurr getting the nod in the opener. The Black Knights will turn to Raymond Maples, Terry Baggett and Larry Dixon to churn out the yards on the ground while Xavier Moss will be the go to receiver when the ball is put in the air. The O-Line returns three starters while the defense has experience on the line and secondary and hopes to improve on the 35 PPG allowed last year.

The Buffalo Bulls held off a late Duquesne Dukes rally to earn a 38-28 decision in their opener. The Bulls did a little of everything on the offensive side of the ball with with Joe Licata going 25-36 for 298 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. The Bulls receiver of choice was Ron Willoughby who snagged ten balls for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Anthone Taylor provided Buffalo with some muscle on the ground with 115 yards on 30 carries and a pair of five yard touchdown runs. The defense was burned on an 88 yard scoring pass and struggled a bit in the second half when Duquesne scored 21 points to trail 31-28 at one point.
Obviously we haven't seen Army yet but I do like Jeff Monken. Buffalo had a battle with Duquesne and that might not be an indication of what this team has but I'll side with the Black Knights here...
