The Ball State Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeyes put their undefeated records on the line Saturday when they meet at Kinnick Stadium.

The Ball State Cardinals cruised to an easy victory over the Colgate Raiders, 30-10. Ball State had great success on the ground, pounding out 311 yards on 53 carries and a touchdown. Horactio Banks and Jahwan Edwards both rushed for 100 yards, while quarterback Ozzie Mann passed for more than 200 yards and two touchdowns. The Cardinals produced more than 500 yards of offense and scored a touchdown in each of the three quarters, but of course, we’ll see just how good this team is against better competition. Defensively, the Ball State Cardinals allowed 227 yards, which includes less than 100 rushing yards. Ben Ingle leads Ball State with 11 tackles.

Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Ball State Cardinals CFB Pick, Odds, Prediction - 9/6/14

USA TODAY Sports

The Iowa Hawkeyes survived a close game against the Northern Iowa Panthers, 31-23. Quarterback Jake Rudock really shined in his first game of the season, completing 31 of 41 passes for 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns. If Rudock can continue that type of production throughout the season, the Hawkeyes are going to be a tough team to beat with a balanced offense. The Hawkeyes are still trying to find out the running back pecking order, so seven players carried the ball for an average of 4.2 yards per carry and two touchdowns. Iowa’s defense is what makes it a dangerous team in the Big Ten this season, and they held Northern Iowa to just 25 rushing yards in the victory. Louis Trinca-Pasat had 1.5 sacks, while Greg Mabin and Bo Bower came away with an interception.

Iowa is just a much bigger and talented team than Ball State, and this is the type of game where the Hawkeyes begin to pull away in the second half after wearing down their opponent.

I like Iowa in a blowout, especially at home.
