The Kansas State Wildcats and Iowa State Cyclones will meet Saturday afternoon in Jack Trice Stadium.

The Kansas State Wildcats steamrolled their week 1 opponent in the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks, 55-16. Quarterback Jake Waters looked sharp, completing 19 of 28 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for two touchdowns as well. Charles Jones tacked on two touchdowns and helped the Wildcats average 4.7 yards per carry on the ground and pretty much put the game away well into the second quarter. Defensively, the Kansas State Wildcats allowed 294 yards and only 69 rushing yards. Linebacker Elijah Lee had a hell of a debut as a freshman, picking up two sacks and a forced fumble in his first game. It was yet another solid opening game for Bill Snyder and the Kansas State Wildcats.

Iowa State Cyclones vs. Kansas State Wildcats NCAAF Pick, Odds, Prediction - 9/6/14

The Iowa State Cyclones suffered a massive upset in week 1 by losing the the North Dakota State Bison, 34-14. Sam B. Richardson threw two interceptions and couldn’t make enough plays for the Cyclones, while the rest of the offense averaged under four yards per carry. What makes things worse for the Cyclones is that they jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter and didn’t score for the rest of the game. Aaron Wimberly scored both touchdowns for the Iowa State Cyclones and was just about the only bright spot for their team. It’s safe to say that nobody was expecting this loss and with Iowa State’s 3-9 record last year, it may have been good enough to put head coach Paul Rhoads on the hot seat. I’m sure nobody knows what to expect from the Cyclones in this one.

With Iowa State at home and the team getting embarrassed last week by a lousy football team, I’m sure we’ll see a more inspired performance from the Cyclones here. However, I’m not sure that’s going to be good enough.

Kansas State is by far the better team and should win this game fairly easily. The Cyclones don’t have much firepower offensively and have almost nothing defensively. Take Kansas State.
