The Louisiana Tech Buldogs go on the road to tangle with the North Texas Mean Green in Thursday action.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs evened their record at 1-1 with a 48-20 thrashing of the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns in week two. ULL was favored by 16 points but were outgained 533-415 and were never in it with La Tech able to run and throw as they desired. Cody Sokol gave the Bulldogs 295 passing yards with a pair of TD's including a 78 yarder to Sterling Griffin and a 16 yard strike to Hunter Lee. Kenneth Dixon paced the Louisiana Tech rushing attack with 184 yards with 99 yard and 16 yard scoring runs. Xavier Woods got the La Tech defense on the scoreboard as well with a 46 yard pick six.

The North Texas Mean Green rebounded from a dismal opening day loss at Texas to demolish the Southern Methodist Mustangs 43-6. This was never in doubt with the Mustangs losing three fumbles with one recovered in the endzone by UNT while getting intercepted twice. The Mean Green threw sparingly with Josh Green going 9-12 for 86 yards as the ball was kept on the ground the majority of the time. North Texas totaled 268 rushing yards and averaged almost five yards per touch with Reggie Pegram leading the way with 83 yards and a touchdown. Erick Evans ripped off a 53 yard scoring run with Antoinne Jimmerson and Jeffrey Wilson combining for 108 yards to give UNT four threats on the ground.
North Texas proved they are tough at home but Louisiana Tech showed they are no slouch on the road. For now I'll back the touchdown but check back by early Thursday for updates...
