The Connecticut Huskies tangle with the Boise State Broncos at Rentschler Field in week three.
The Boise State Broncos evened their record at 1-1 following a 37-24 victory on the blue turf versus the Colorado State Rams. The Broncos piled up 676 yards and were able to do what they wanted offensively while most of the Rams 462 yards came in the second when the game was decided. Grant Hedrick threw for 352 yards with a pair of touchdowns and a pick with Matt Miller leading the Boise receiving corps with eight catches for 151 yards including a 44 yard TD. Jay Ajayi did everything for the Broncos with 219 rushing yards and two scores while adding four receptions for 61 yards and another touchdown. The defense was a bit too much bend but don't break but did make a goal line stand and forced three turnovers.

The Connecticut Huskies squeezed by Stony Brook 19-16 to earn win number one in 2014. Special teams and sefense ruled the day as both offenses struggled to move the chains. UConn missed Casey Cochran under center with Chase Whitmer going 12-27 for 142 yards and a touchdown with Geremy Davis being the receiver of choice with 113 yards on six receptions including a 30 yard touchdown. The focus of the Stony Brook defense was the pass with the Huskies held to 81 yards on the ground and just over two yard average. The special teams got on the scoreboard via Deshon Foxx and his 72 yard punt return but the concern was the offense mustering only 223 yards.
With Cohran likely calling it a career after suffering a concussion versus BYU the Connecticut offense has their backs against the wall and they might need points with Boise State coming to town. No line out but I would probably lean Broncos if it's not out of hand...
