The Florida Atlantic Owls look for their first win when the Tulsa Golden Hurricane visit FAU Football Stadium.
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane haven't had much luck when facing the Oklahoma Sooners and that trend continued in a 52-7 rout to their instate rivals in week two. Neither side of the ball put up much of a fight with OU racking up 580 yards in however they felt. The Tulsa offense mustered just 324 yards with four turnovers including a pick six. The Golden Hurricane needed a productive rushing attack to eat clock and move the chains with James Flanders and his 54 yards the extent of the success. The Golden Hurricane also struggled through the air with Dane Evans completing 22-43 for 204 yards with a TD and the pick six.

Florida Atlantic was smothered by Alabama 41-0 to begin 2014 with an 0-2 mark. The Owls have scored seven points in two games after getting smacked by Nebraska in their opener but kudos to them for not scheduling some weak FCS school like many teams do to pad their record. The Crimson Tide were the one's doing the padding after racking up 620 yards with 27 first downs and over 36 minutes of possession. FAU totaled seven first downs to go along with 145 yards with Jay Warren accounting for 56 running yards on nine carries. Florida Atlantic turned to quarterback Greg Hankerson to move the ball and a 12-19 effort for 88 yards wasn't awful but it wasn't enough to be competitive.
Florida Atlantic's 0-2 start was expected and Tulsa could easily be 0-2 if not for some good fortune in the opener versus Tulane. If Jaquez Johnson is out I give a slight nod to Tulsa but this isn't a confident choice...
