Bobby Dodd Stadium and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets host the Georgia Southern Eagles Saturday.
The Georgia Southern Eagles rebounded from a week one loss to North Carolina State to crush the Savannah State Tigers 83-9. As the score indicates the stats were dominated by the Eagles who piled up almost 700 yards while holding the Tigers to under 300 and forcing three turnovers. As expected the GSU offense was centered around the run which totaled 600 yards and averaged over eleven yards per carry led by Brendan Thomas with 112 yards and a score and Ean Days with 112 yards and two TD's. The Eagles received another 81 yards from QB Favian Upshaw with a TD while he also threw for six more. Overall, 14 players were involved in the scoring.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets broke open a close contest with the Tulane Green Wave on a 14-0 second half to up their record to 2-0 with a 38-21 decision. The yardage was fairly even with both teams giving the ball away three times but the Yellow Jackets option was more productive then the Green Waves passing. Justin Thomas was ineffective in the air for the Jackets as he went 3-8 for 15 yards and a pick but he proved to be productive with his legs with 70 yards on ten totes. Zach Laskey led GT on the ground with 86 yards while Tony Zenon added 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The difference maker here was the Jackets defense threw a blanket over the Tulane offense over the final 30 minutes.
I really don't see Georgia Tech threatened here but at the same tiime Georgia Southern won't be intimidated and I believe they can score enough to stay within the number...
