The Pittsburgh Panthers travel to Florida to play the Florida International Golden Panthers on Saturday afternoon.
The Pittsburgh Panthers are coming off back to back wins against Delaware and Boston College. The Panthers destroyed Delaware 62-0 in their home opener, while beating Boston College on the road 30-20 last week. Against Boston College, the Panthers outgained the Eagles 414 to 276. Pittsburgh rushed for 303 yards, with RB James Conner carrying the ball 36 times for 214 yards and one touchdown. QB Chad Voytik completed 10 of 20 passes for 111 yards to go along with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. WR Tyler Boyd caught 5 balls for 72 yards and 2 touchdown catches. Conner rushed for 153 yards and four touchdowns against Delaware in the season opener and looks like a guy who is determined to take the ACC by storm. Pittsburgh is one of my sleeper teams in the ACC and with Voytik and Conner leading the way the offense should be great. The Pittsburgh defense will need to continue to improve if they’re going to beat the best of the best in the ACC.

The Florida International Golden Panthers beat Wagner 34-3 last weekend to win their first game of the season. FIU lost to Bethune-Cookman, 14-12, in week one at home. Against Wagner, FIU produced 377 total yards, while holding Wagner to 212 total yards. QB E.J. Hilliard completed 14 of 16 passes for 169, while QB Alex McGough completed 9 of 18 passes for 60 yards and 2 touchdowns. WR Jonnu Smith played a great game, pulling in 9 balls for 127 yards and one touchdown. The Golden Panthers turned the ball over 3 times and committed 9 penalties in the game. FIU cannot make those type of mistakes when they go up against a power- five conference opponent. The Golden Panthers will now host Pittsburgh and Louisville at home on back to back weekends.
Pittsburgh is a solid team this year and as long as the defense can hold their ground, I think the offense will be outstanding. FIU has not looked good against two mediocre teams to say the least and they will be in for a long day at home in this one. This is a ton of points to lay on the road, but I think Pittsburgh wins by 30 or more.
