The South Florida Bulls welcome the Connecticut Huskies to Raymond James Stadium on Friday night.
The Connecticut Huskies gave the visiting Boise State Broncos a run for their money before falling 38-21 on Saturday. The Huskies defense was phenominal by holding the visitors to 294 yards and 13 first downs but the offensive side of the football struggled to take advantage. UConn mustered just 290 yards with three turnovers with a fumble return for a TD and a pick six to give the Broncos 14 points. Max DeLorenzo was the Connectcut rushing attack with 43 yards on ten carries which put the focus on Chandler Whitmer and the air game. Whitmer completed 16-29 for 209 yards with a pair of touchdowns and two picks with Deshon Foxx totaling 107 yards on six receptions.

The South Florida Bulls struggled on both sides of the football in a 49-17 home loss to the North Carolina State Wolfpack Saturday. This one got out of hand quickly with the Wolfpack leading 35-7 heading in to the locker room while finishing with 589 yards with equal ability to run and throw. The Bulls were not as successful with 159 total yards and three turnovers while holding the ball for just over 21 minutes. Marlon Mack was the Bulls best offensive option with 51 rushing yards on 12 carries. The passing game went nowhere with Mike White providing USF with their lone big play with a 75 yard scoring strike to Ryeshene Bronson but White was only 4-16 for 82 yards overall. Quinton Flowers was 1-4 for seven yards and a pick six so the South Florida attack generally was stuck in the mud.
I don't have words to describe what I have seen from these teams so far. I am leaning to the points for no other reason then somebody is getting them. I might be interested in the under when it's released but please check back Thursday when I have had time to digest the numbers...
