The Brigham Young Cougars nearly coughed up a 23-0 lead before hanging on for a 33-25 decision over the Houston Cougars to stay unbeaten. The Cougars built a big lead and then watched Houston connect on a Hail Mary before the half. The boxscore says BYU won big with a 523-325 edge in yardage although they lost the turnover battle 3-0. Taysom Hill was the big offensive threat for Brigham Young with 160 passing yards and with a TD and two interceptions while running for a game high 160 yards. Jamaal Williams gave BYU a second threat on the ground with 139 yards on 28 totes with a pair of touchdowns while Jordan Leslie paced the receivers with 79 yards on six catches.
If Brigham Young can avoid mistakes and lapses in concentration they have the upper hand with Virginia on the road off of a huge win. I'm backing them but I need hill to protect the ball which is asking a lot sometimes...
