The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will make this their third road game of the season and are still looking for their first road win. The Blue Raiders have a balanced offense led by quarterback Austin Grammer, who is completing 66.1 percent of his passes for three touchdowns and four interceptions. The Blue Raiders ground game is averaging 4.5 yards per carry and is led by senior Reggie Whatley, who has two touchdowns and 264 rushing yards. Middle Tennessee has a pair of explosive receivers in Marcus Henry and Ed'Marques Batties, a duo that has combined for 33 receptions for 401 yards and two touchdowns. Middle Tennessee probably has the most balanced offense in the C-USA. Defensively the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders are allowing 444.5 yards per game and have forced six turnovers and four sacks. T.T. Barber leads Middle Tennessee with 36 tackles and Leighton Gasque has two sacks.

The Monarchs strength is their passing game led by senior quarterback Taylor Heinicke, who is completing 66.7 percent for 1,172 yards and 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. The Monarchs have five different players with more than 100 receiving yards and have produced 10 passing plays of 25 or more yards. Zach Pascal and Antonio Vaughan have combined for seven touchdowns at the wide receiver position. Led by running back Gerard Johnson, the Monarchs are averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Defensively, the Old Dominion Monarchs are allowing 413 yards per game and have forced six turnovers and 10 sacks. Fellonte Misher leads the Monarchs with 31 tackles and Poncho Barnwell has six tackles for loss.

This is an interesting line considering Old Dominion opened up as an underdog. This game is a true toss-up but I’m leaning in the direction of the Monarchs, as they haven’t lost a home game since December of 2012. I’ll eat the small number and back Old Dominion here.
