The Florida State Seminoles travel to Carter-Finley Stadium to take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack.
The Florida State Seminoles barely survived against the Clemson Tigers in overtime and are expected to have Jameis Winston back for this matchup. While Winston and off-the-field issues continue to rule the headlines, the Seminoles real concerns should be a ground game that’s averaging just 3.5 yards per carry and an offensive line that’s allowed seven sacks in three games. Still, a combination of Winston and wide receiver Rashad Greene have been able to overcome those concerns, as the senior has 24 catches for 418 yards and two touchdowns. The Seminoles have eight passing plays of 25 or more yards and three running plays of 20 or more yards. Defensively, the Florida State Seminoles are allowing 364.3 yards per game and have forced three turnovers and two sacks. Terrance Smith leads the Seminoles with 30 tackles and Jalen Ramsey has 2.5 tackles for loss.

This will be the first true test of the season for the undefeated North Carolina State Wolfpack. North Carolina State currently has one of the more balanced offenses in the country, which includes a running game that’s averaging 6.3 yards per carry. Shadrach Thornton and Matt Dayes have combined for more than 500 yards and eight touchdowns, as the Wolfpack have seven running plays that have produced more than 20 yards. Former Florida quarterback Jacoby Brissett is completing 69.7 percent of his passes for 1,005 yards, 10 touchdowns and just one interception. The Wolfpack have the best offense in the ACC, averaging more than 500 yards. Defensively, the North Carolina State Wolfpack are allowing 338.3 yards per game and have forced six turnovers and seven sacks. Jerod Fernandez leads North Carolina State with 35 tackles and Thomas Teal has two sacks.
The Seminoles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games. The Wolfpack are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in September and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Seminoles are 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings in North Carolina State.
Six of the last nine meetings between these two teams have been decided by single digits, and Florida State hasn’t won in North Carolina State since 2008. With the way the Wolfpack can move the ball and their underrated defense, I see North Carolina State making this a game and keeping it a lot closer than expected. I feel rather confident in the points and the home team.
