The Hilltoppers amassed 718 yards and 33 first downs with the Blue Raiders checking in at a not too shabby 541 yards. Leon Allen gave the Hilltoppers a quality rushing game with 125 yards and a touchdown but that paled when compared to an explosive passing attack that totaled 593 yards. Brandon Doughty completed 43-66 throws for four touchdowns and an interception with Nicholas Norris and Mitchell Henry leadt the WKY receivers with 302 yards on 13 catches with three scores. Of course the Blue Raiders had no problem moving the football either.

The Navy Midshipmen struggled to get their option attack going and the result was a 31-24 defeat at the hands of visiting Rutgers. In a reversal of roles the Scarlet Knights won the battle of rushing attacks 284-171 with Navy averaging a mere four yards per carry. Geoffrey Whiteside led the Middies on the ground with 51 yards and was the only runner with more then 28 yards. The Rutgers defense keyed on quarterback Keenan Reynolds wo carried the ball 19 times for 25 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Reynolds went to the air far more then we normally see with a 12-22 effort for 231 yards and a TD ehich is fantastic for a team that doesn't throw but also doesn't win by throwing.
I thought Rutgers was a bad match up for Navy but I feel as though the option will be clicking against the Hilltoppers. I do want to see the total to see if there is value in it also so please check back...
