The UNLV Rebels took one on the chin in a 47-14 rout at the hands of Houston behind a dominant second half run by the Cougars. The Rebels trailed 13-7 at the half before their defense was nowhere to be found in the final 30 minutes. Houston piled up nearly 400 yards on the ground on the way to 534 yards and 30 first downs while UNLV countered with 316 yards and three turnovers with eleven penalties thrown in the mix. Blake Decker struggled to connect with his receiving corps with a 12-28 performance for 113 yards and a pair of picks with Nick Sherry throwing for 33 yards and an INT. Decker added 41 yards on the ground with Keith Whitely totaling 86 yards but much more was needed.

The San Diego State Aztecs offense found the going too tough in a 28-7 defeat at Oregon State in week four play. The Aztecs fell to 1-2 as the O generated 215 yards and gave the ball away twice while mustering under 25 minutes in time of possession. Donnel Pumphrey gave the Aztecs a spark on the ground with 89 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown while Lloyd Mills ripped off a 36 yard run but that was the extent of the rushing attack. SDSU turned to the passing of Quinn Kaehler but it was too many short gains with a 14-26 night producing 106 yards which made his two interceptions stand out. he Nevada-Las Vegas held their own with the Beavers held to 372 yards but there was no room for error.
UNLV was worried about academics making them Bowl ineligible but that's not a worry because their play has made them ineligible.I haven't seen enough of San Diego State to form an opinion so I'll take the points but will not be touching this...
