The Buffalo Bulls improved to 3-2 on the season with a 35-27 victory over a stubborn Miami (Ohio) squad in week five. UB trailed by one in the 4th quarter but scored the final nine points to secure the win although the numbers say this was probably closer then it should have been. The Bulls dominated total yardage 575-371 but the Redhawks simply scored when needed. A balanced UB attack received a monster 222 rushing yards and three scores from Anthone Taylor while Joe Licata threw for 278 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Bowling Green Falcons continued to light up the scoreboard in a 47-42 victory over Massachusetts in week five action. The Falcons had a slight 668-638 edge in yards in a game that featured seven turnovers and up and down action. BGSU could not stop the Minutemen in the air as they were tagged with 589 yards but their balance was a bit too much for UMass to handle as well. Travis Greene paced the Bowling Green ground game with 110 yards and a pair of trips to the endzone with Fred Coppet adding another 78 yards. In the air James Knapke threw for 443 yards with three touchdowns and a trio of picks.
The team with the ball last could very well win this so there isn't a side that is rock solid. I'll back Bowling Green for now but check back Friday as I dig in to this...
