Notre Dame Stadium hosts the Stanford Cardinal in a week six bout with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
The Stanford Cardinal outlasted Washington by a 20-13 count for consecutive victories to improve to 3-1. Defense was the name of the game for both squads with Stanford holding a 364-179 edge in yardage although mistakes gave the Huskies a huge helping hand. The Huskies recorded an interception and recovered a pair of fumbles with one returned for a touchdown with less then two minutes left in the first half. Remound Wright and Kevin Hogan combined for 116 yards on 28 carries in a four yards and a cloud of dust ground game with Hogan scoring the winning touchdown for Stanford with 4 1/2 minutes left. Hogan was more successful through the air with 176 yards with a touchdown and interception.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish upped their record to 4-0 with a 31-15 victory over Syracuse as nearly a ten point favorite. The scoreboard says it was a solid win but it was a sloppy perfomance from the Notre Dame offense and quarterback Everett Golson. ND totaled a hefty 529 yards but Golson threw a pair of interceptions including a pick six and fumbled three snaps in the shotgun. Golson was spectacular in the air however with a 32-39 performance for 362 yards and four touchdowns with William Fuller on the receiving end of 23 yard and 72 yard scoring strikes. The Irish ground game was so,so with Greg Bryant and Tarean Folston combining for 96 yards on 19 totes which was plenty with the Orange not able to find the endzone until late.
The key here will be which offense will be able to score as this looks like a low scoring game to me. I'll take Notre Dame and the points but I want at least a field goal...
