The San Jose Spartans welcome the UNLV Rebels to Spartan Stadium for late Saturday action.
The UNLV Rebels started strong at San Diego State but eventually faded in 34-17 defeat that dropped their record to 1-3. The Rebels led 10-7 after 15 minutes but couldn't generate anything offensively from that point and the defense wasn't able to win on their own. Both teams totaled aroud 460 yards but San Jose State could run and throw and UNLV could only pass. The Rebels averaged less then three yards per carry but did have success when Blake Decker put the ball in the air. Decker connected on 18-31 for 346 yards with Devonte Boyd hauling in a 44 yard TD but btwo picks were killers.

The San Jose State Spartans did everything but win in a 21-10 defeat at the hands of visiting Nevada. The Spartans dominated total yardage 446-256 but lost the turnover battle 3-0 including a pick six. Jarrod Lawson and Tyler Ervin gave SJSU just enough of a running threat for the Wolpack to be aware with 112 yards on 27 carries but the real threat was in the air. Joe Gray hit on 32-46 for 276 yards with nine receivers recording catches but his two interceptions ruined what good have been a winning performance. His pick six came with nine minutes remaining and Nevada up just 14-10.
I just don't see UNLV pulling the upset because they are the better team at home. Having said that I'll still side with the points as I don't see a blowout either...
