The high powered Western Kentucky Hilltoppers host the Alabama-Birmingham Blazers in week six.
The Alabama-Birmingham Blazers were deer in the headlights in a 34-21 loss to visiting Florida International. The blame for this one goes directly on the shoulders of the offense who totaled 380 yards and gave the ball away six times including a pair of pick six's. The defense wasn't without blame with 75 yard and 85 yard scoring passes allowed against an offense that could not move the ball otherwise. UAB quarterback Cody Clements connected on 16-29 for 188 yards and a touchdown and the two pick six's while running for 49 yards and a score. Jordan Howard paced the Blazers on the ground with 102 yards on 21 totes but nothing else went favorably for the Blazers.

The Western Kentucky Hilltopers outscored Navy 36-27 to improve to 2-2 on the season. Although the Hilltoppers couldn't stop the Midshipmen ground game that piled up 412 yards, their own passing attack wasn't stopped by Navy. WKY amassed 551 yards behind quarterback Brandon Doughty who hit on 38-54 throws for 387 yards with a pair of touchdowns and an interception. Eight players caught at least two passes as Doughty spread the ball around a bit while Leon Allen supplied some punch on the ground with 102 yards when WKY decided to give their signal caller's arm a breather. The defense gave up nearly eight yards per carry but controlled the scoreboard and added a 43 yard pick six by Wonderful Terry in the closing minute.
Western Kentucky will likely get their points here but Alabama-Birmingham has to be an angry team over giving away their game against FIU. If this line stays at nearly two touchdowns I'd have no problem hitting it hard...
