The Western Michigan Broncos saw their bid for a third consecutive victory fall short in a 35-17 loss at Virginia Tech. The Hokies held the Broncos to 231 yards and ten first downs and made the offense one dimensional by eliminating any threat on the ground. Jarvion Franklin was the only viable runner with 76 yards on 15 carries with a pair of one yard touchdown runs. WMU turn to Zach Terrell to move the chains and his 18-31 effort produced 212 yards and an interception with Daniel Braverman snagging eight balls for 100 yards. The issue was Virginia outgainned the Broncos by more then 2-1 and also returned a fumble for six.
