The UNLV Rebels host the Fresno State Bulldogs in a Mountain West tilt in week seven action.
The Fresno State Bulldogs picked up their second straight victory in a 24-13 defeat of visiting San Diego State. The Bulldogs faced backup quarterback Nick Bawden and held him to 84 passing yards picked off a pair of throws in limiting the Aztecs to 270 yards. Fresno needed a solid defensive effort because their own offense totaled just 315 yards but did sustain a few long drives. Marteze Waller and Brian Burrell combined for 118 yards on the ground while Burrell connected on 14-28 for 143 passing yards and an interception with Josh Harper grabbing five throws for 76 yards in an otherwise quiet night for the offense.

The UNLV Rebels took one on the chin in a 33-10 road loss to San Jose State to fall to 1-5 on the season. The Rebels have struggled on both sides of the ball and did so once again with the Spartans holding a hefty 542-221 advantage in yards. While SJSU was able to both run and throw the Rebels had problems doing either. Keith Whitely led the UNLV offense with 79 rushing yards on 13 carries while Blake Decker hit on 6-10 throws for 71 yards while Nick Sherry struggled to a 5-18 night for 45 yards and an interception with the Rebels having trouble getting set at quarterback.
UNLV is really struggling and Fresno State has looked good against teams on their own level. I'll back the Bulldogs but I'm not thrilled about the chalk...
