The Duke Blue Devils travel to Georgia Tech to play the Yellow Jackets on Saturday afternoon.
Duke dropped to 4-1 on the year after losing to Miami two weeks ago on the road. The Blue Devils won their first four games on the season with victories over Elon, Troy, Kansas, and Tulane. Duke is averaging 36.8 points per game, which ranks 32nd in the country. However, against Miami the Blue Devils were only able to score 10 points. The Blue Devils are averaging 220.4 passing yards per game. QB Anthony Boone has thrown for 1005 yards to go along with 7 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. WR Jamison Crowder has caught 29 balls for 343 yards and 2 touchdowns so far this season. Duke is averaging 225.8 rushing yards per game with RB Shaun Wilson leading the way with 435 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Blue Devils defense is allowing an average of 13.6 points per game, which ranks 8th in the country. This will be the Blue Devils third road game of the year and they will have had two weeks to prepare.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets improved to 5-0 on the season after defeating Miami at home 28-17 last weekend. The Yellow Jackets have knocked off Wofford, Tulane, Georgia Southern, Virginia Tech, and now the Hurricanes. Against Miami, The Yellow Jackets produced 371 total yards with 318 coming via the ground game. Georgia Tech converted 9 of 14 3rd downs and did not turn the ball over in the win. QB Justin Thomas only completed 4 of 7 passes for 53 yards and did not rush for much. However, Thomas was instrumental in running the spread option offense effectively. RB Zach Laskey rushed for a career-high 29 times for 133 yards for the Yellow Jackets, who finished with a 21-minute advantage in time of possession. Georgia Tech kept pounding the ball on the ground and it definitely wore the Miami defense down in the second half. Georgia Tech is averaging 297.2 rushing yards per game, which ranks 12th in the country. The Yellow Jackets defense is allowing an average of 23.8 points per game and will need to play well this weekend to remain undefeated.
This will be a big game for the ACC in deciding who may play in the championship game at the end of the season. Georgia Tech is on a roll right now and will have the luxury of playing at home against a tough Duke squad. The Blue Devils will have had two weeks to prepare for the spread option attack of Georgia Tech. I think this will be a close game and would lean towards taking the points with Duke. My stronger play will be on the under because I think both teams will run the ball and the clock, along with playing some stingy defense.
