The Cincinnati Bearcats travel to Miami to play the Hurricanes on Saturday afternoon.
The Cincinnati Bearcats dropped to 2-2 on the year after getting blown out at home by Memphis 41-14 last weekend. The Bearcats started out 2-0 with wins over Toledo and Miami (OH) before dropping back to back games against Ohio State on the road and now the Tigers. Against Memphis, Cincinnati only managed 352 total yards, with only 97 coming on the ground. The Bearcats turned the ball over twice and managed to convert only 3 of 12 on 3rd down. The Bearcats only held the ball for 19 minutes on offense as their defense had trouble getting the Tigers off the field and Cincinnati obviously had problems sustaining drives. QB Gunner Kiel completed 11 of 27 passes for 216 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception before leaving the game with a rib injury. WR Mekale McKay caught 2 balls for 89 yards and a touchdown, while RB Rodriguez Moore carried the ball 14 times for 65 yards and a touchdown. The Bearcat defense allowed 610 total yards, 299 coming on the ground against Memphis. Cincinnati is giving up an average of 37.3 points per game, which ranks 114th in the country. The Bearcats will need to make some big improvements if they hope to have any chance on the road this weekend.

The Miami Hurricanes dropped to 3-3 on the year after losing on the road at Georgia Tech 28-17 on Saturday. The Hurricanes have lost all three of their road games to the likes of Louisville, Nebraska, and now Georgia Tech. Against the Yellow Jackets, Miami gained 352 total yards with 107 coming on the ground. The Hurricanes only held the ball for 19 minutes, turned the ball over twice, and converted 1 of 5 on 3rd down. QB Brad Kaaya completed 16 of 25 passes for 245 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 costly interceptions. Star RB Duke Johnson rushed 14 times for 100 yards and a touchdown, while WR Phillip Dorsett caught 3 balls for 75 yards. Duke was able to sustain long drives against the Hurricanes as they converted 9 of 14 on 3rd down. The Hurricanes allowed 371 total yards with 318 coming on the ground against the Yellow Jackets rush heavy offense. Miami heads back home for their next game and the Hurricanes are 3-0 at home with wins over Florida A&M, Arkansas State, and Duke.
Cincinnati has struggled to stop their opponents from running up the score and their offense took a hit with Gunner Kiel being out for this one. Meanwhile, Miami has been inconsistent on both sides of the ball and have struggled on the road so far this year. However, this game is at home for the Hurricanes and I believe they will win. The Hurricanes should be able to run all over the Bearcats with Duke Johnson and after a poor performance by Kaaya last game, I think he will rebound well at home. I think Miami wins by 20 and scores a ton of points against a weak Cincinnati team.
