The Kibbie Dome Stadium and the Idaho Vandals play host to the New Mexico State Aggies in a week eight bout.
The New Mexico State Aggies began the season well at 2-0 but have struggled since with five consecutive defeats after falling to Troy 41-24 in week seven. The Aggies generally need points and for their defense to provide some backbone to compete and neither happened versus the Trojans who rolled up 571 yards and dominated the line of scrimmage. New Mexico State had some success moving the football with nearly 400 yards but the positives were offset by four turnovers. Larry Rose III led the Aggies with 85 yards with 53 yards coming on his touchdown run while Tyler Rogers had a good game in the air except for mistakes. Rogers completed 22-33 for 272 yards with eleven yard and 30 yard scoring throws to Teldrick Morgan and Jerrel Brown respectively but his two interceptions were killers. The kick return squad allowed an 89 yard return as well to squash an Aggies rally.

The Idaho Vandals initial season in the Sun Belt hasn't yielded a win yet as the team fell to 0-6 on the year after a 47-24 loss at Georgia Southern. The Vandals have had some success scoring the football but have struggled to get stops defensively and they need both units on the same page to have a chance. That didn't happen with Georgia Southern amassing 550 yards with the option totaling 350 yards and six yards a carry. That was far too much firepower for the Vandals offense to counter with just 365 yards and not enough ground game to burn clock and keep the Eagles offense on the sideline. Idaho received 75 yards and three touchchdowns from Elijhaa Penny on the ground but it took him 21 carries so there was very little running room. Matt Linehan connected on 19-31 throws for 230 yards and an interception with Joshua McCain leading the Vandals with 97 yards on six catches.
The Aggies are 0-6 ATS in the last six road games versus a team with a losing record while the over is 6-0 in the last six road games against a team with a losing record. Idaho is 0-4 ATS in the last four versus a team with a losing record with the over going 3-0-1 in the last four after allowing more then 450 yards in the previous game. Head to head Idaho is 0-4 ATS in the past four meetings with the underdog going 5-1 ATS in the last six overall while the under is 4-0 in the last four at Idaho.
The trends say take the points but I don't think anything is written in stone when these teams play because neither has had a history of success to lean on. I think the Vandals at home might be the choice but this is a game where I don't feel comfortable giving or taking the points but check back Friday after I look at this more...
