The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs shoot for consecutive victories versus the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners.
The Louisiana Tech played their best game of the season in a one sided 55-3 rout of Texas El Paso in week six. The defense made things easy with 224 yards allowed while recovering a pair of fumbles and picking off three passes. The special teams returned a blocked field goal for a score as every unit contributed to the scoring. La Tech posted 443 yards although the passing attack was a bit hit or miss with Cody Sokol hitting 6-16 for 173 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. Carlos Henderson posted a 69 yard TD catch while Kenneth Dixon added 88 yards on the ground with Sokol totaling another 6o yards with both scoring.
USA TODAY Sports
The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners turned back a solid challenge from Florida International to earn a 16-13 victory in week seven. In the process the Roadrunners ended a four game slide to improve to 2-4 and keep their postseason hopes alive. The Golden Panthers were never able to get their offense going with just 259 yards with five turnovers making a bad day even worse. The Roadrunners totaled 317 yards and had some ball protection issues of their own with three lost fumbles. Quarterback Austin Robinson completed 14-17 for 144 yards and added 64 yards with his legs while punter Kristian Stern kept FIU pinned down with a 44 yard average on seven boots.
A few trends to consider is the under is 5-0 in the Roadrunners last five following a SU win and is 4-0 in the Bulldogs last four home games versus a team with a losing road record and is 4-0 in the last four contests overall.
Texas-San Antonio's top two quarterbacks are banged up and their status is up in the air for now while Louisiana Tech is healthy. No line has been released because of the Roadrunners situation at quarterback but I would expect something around a touchdown or more. Lean to the home team but please check back when lines are released...
