The Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans continue their rivalry Saturday afternoon at Spartan Stadium.
The Michigan Wolverines are still looking for their first road win and just trying to keep Brady Hoke’s job intact. In order to do that, the Wolverines will have to get their offense going, as they’ve scored 24 or less points in five of their last six games. Devin Gardner is completing 63.2 percent of his passes for six touchdowns and eight interceptions. Gardner has thrown a pick in five of his last six games and has just one touchdown pass in his last four games. Devin Funchess has caught 36 of Michigan’s 105 receptions and has four of the wolverines six touchdown receptions. Michigan has just 10 passing plays of 25 or more yards, which is near the bottom of the country. With Derrick Green out for the year, De'Veon Smith has carried the load and he’s scored a touchdown in two of his last three games. Defensively, the Michigan Wolverines are allowing 21.4 points, 301 yards, and they’ve forced three turnovers and 18 sacks. Jake Ryan leads Michigan with 56 tackles and Brennen Beyer has four sacks.

The Michigan State Spartans continue to steamroll teams, scoring no less than 45 points in five of their seven games. Connor Cook is completing 61.4 percent of his passes for 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. In his last two games, Cook has six touchdown passes and two interceptions, and Michigan State is 6-0 SU when he throws at least three touchdowns. Tony Lippett has 39 of Michigan State’s 131 receptions, and he leads the Spartans with 786 yards and eight touchdown catches. Lippett has caught at least one touchdown in six of the seven games. Jeremy Langford and Nick Hill have combined for more than 1,000 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. MSU has won nine straight games when rushing for 200-plus yards. Defensively, the Michigan State Spartans are allowing 21.6 points, 294.1 yards, and they’ve forced 19 turnovers and 26 sacks. Kurtis Drummond leads Michigan State with 33 tackles and Ed Davis has six sacks.
The Wolverines are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 conference games and 10-23-1 ATS in their last 34 road games. The Spartans are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 13-5-1 ATS in their last 19 games overall. The Wolverines are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 meetings, while the favorite is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings.
I know the Michigan Wolverines are absolutely terrible and it's really only a matter of time before Hoke gets fired. However, this is still a rivarly game and five of the last seven meetings have been decided by 14 or less points. There's better bets on the board but if you must have action on this game, I'd suggest taking the points.
