The Boston College Eagles travel to Wake Forest to play the Demon Deacons on Saturday.
Boston College dropped to 4-3 on the year after losing to Clemson at home 17-13 last weekend. Boston College has beaten the likes of UMass, USC, Maine, and NC State this year, while losing to Pittsburgh, Colorado State, and now Clemson. Against the Tigers, Boston College was outgained 398 to 263 in total yards. The Eagles converted only 2 of 14 on 3rd down. QB Tyler Murphy completed 8 of 19 passes for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns. Murphy also rushed 13 times for 55 yards. WR Charlie Callinan caught 3 balls for 64 yards for the Eagles. The Boston College defense struggled to get off the field on third down and the secondary did not play well against the Clemson passing attack. On the year, the Eagles rank 16th in points against, allowing only 19 points per game. Boston College also ranks 9th in rushing yards per game, averaging just over 287 yards on the ground per contest. Boston College will head out on the road where they are 2-0 this season.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons dropped to 2-5 on the year after losing at home to Syracuse 30-7 last weekend. The Demon Deacons have lost three straight to Louisville, Florida State, and now the Orange. Wake Forest has only knocked off Gardner-Webb and Army this season. Against Syracuse, the Demon Deacons were outgained 370 to 170 in total yards. Wake Forest turned the ball over twice and converted only 3 of 15 on 3rd down. QB John Wofford completed 9 of 14 passes for 72 yards with 1 touchdowns and 1 interception. WR E.J. Scott caught 5 balls for 48 yards, while RB Dezmond Wortham rushed for 57 yards on 19 carries. On the year the Wake Forest offense is only of the worst in the country. The Demon Deacons average only 14.4 points, 36.7 rushing yards, and 170 passing yards per game. Wake Forest will try to avoid losing four straight games this weekend.
Boston College has won 5 of the last 7 meetings between these two schools, including a 24-10 victory last year at home. The Eagles will be on the road in this one, but they have faired well on the road so far this season. Wake Forest has an awful offense and it won’t be hard for the Boston College to slow them down. Meanwhile, the Eagles will find a way to score in the mid to upper 20’s against the Demon Deacon defense. I believe Boston College will win this game by two touchdowns at least.
