The Oklahoma Sooners and Iowa State Cyclones play a Big 12 matchup Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium.

The Oklahoma Sooners have lost two of their last three games and just hope they don’t get caught looking ahead with Baylor next week. In order for the Sooners to turn things around, Trevor Knight has to be better as he’s completing just 59 percent of his passes for nine touchdowns and six interceptions. Knight has thrown at least one interception in four of his last five games and has completed 60 percent or less in four of the seven games this season. Sterling Shepard and Durron Neal have combined for 75 receptions, more than 1,200 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Oklahoma has 16 passing plays of 25 or more yards and is averaging close to 14 yards per reception. Samaje Perine leads Oklahoma with 657 rushing yards and has scored nine touchdowns in his last four games. Keith Ford, who has missed the last four games, is questionable with a fibula injury. Defensively, the Oklahoma Sooners are allowing 22.9 points, 390.7 yards, and they’ve forced 15 turnovers and 19 sacks. Jordan Evans leads Oklahoma with 56 tackles and Eric Striker has 4.5 tackles for loss.

Iowa State vs. Oklahoma - 11/1/14 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Iowa State Cyclones are still looking for their first conference victory and just their second home win. The main issue for Iowa State is its defense that’s allowing 35.3 points, 455.7 yards, and has forced seven turnovers and 11 sacks. The Iowa State Cyclones have allowed 30 or more points in eight of their last 10 games. Jevohn Miller leads Iowa State with 68 tackles and Cory Morrissey has 6.5 tackles for loss. Offensively, Sam B. Richardson is completing 61.1 percent of his passes for 13 touchdowns and six interceptions, and he’s the Cyclones leading rusher with 319 yards and two scores. Iowa State has nine passing plays of 25 or more yards and is averaging 9.9 yards per catch. Allen Lazard and E.J. Bibbs have combined for nine of Iowa State’s 14 receiving touchdowns. Aaron Wimberly has scored in two of his last three games played.

The Sooners are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 23-8 ATS in their last 31 games following a S.U. loss. The Cyclones are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 conference games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Sooners are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 meetings.

Iowa State has had a knack for pulling off upsets. While I don't think this Cyclones team can win outright against Oklahoma, they do have enough to keep things closer than expected. I haven't been impressed with the way the Sooners have played this season and with the help from the home crowd, I like Iowa State to keep this game close.
