MacKay Stadium and the Nevada Wolf Pack play host to MWC rival the San Diego State Aztecs.
The San Diego State have played their schedule reasonably well but will be put to the test when they visit Nevada Saturday. The Aztecs should have a little bit of momentum heading in to that bout after a 20-10 decision over visiting Hawaii heading in to their bye week gave the team back to back wins. This one belonged to the Aztecs defense which held the Warriors to just 214 yards and 12 fist downs while recovering a fumble and picking off a pair of passes. On the flip side the Aztecs totaled 457 yards and held the ball for 36 minutes so they probably should have scored more. Quinn Kaehler looked healthy on a 13-24 effort that produced 174 yards with a 26 yard TD strike to Lloyd Mills but the bread and butter was the rushing attack that saw Donnel Pumphrey ramble for 182 yards with a ten yard scoring run.

The Nevada Wolf Pack should also have some momentum on their side when San Diego State visits with back to back wins following a 26-18 victory at Hawaii which is never an easy thing to do. Nevada trailed 10-6 heading to the locker room before the offense decided to help out the defense with a 20 point second half burst. Hawaii was held to 303 yards with a pair of turnovers while the visitors totaled 427 yards with nearly 300 yards coming on the ground. Quarterback Cody Fajardo was the centerpiece of the offense with 128 yards passing including a 16 yard touchdown to Hasaan Henderson with an interception. Fajardo was a strong runner with 133 yards on 23 touches with six yard and eight yard scoring runs. James Butler contributed 94 yards and Don Jackson added 69 yards to give the Warriors defense three effective options to worry about.
The under is 7-0 in Aztecs last 7 games overall and is 4-0 in Aztecs last 4 conference games while going 4-0 in Aztecs last 4 road games. For Nevada the under is 4-0 in Wolf Pack last 4 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game and is 7-0 in Wolf Pack last 7 home games vs. a team with a winning road record while going 5-0 in Wolf Pack last 5 games in November. I could make an argument for both teams with Nevada the better team playing at home while San Diego State is well rested off a bye. For now I'll take the points but check back Friday afternoon as I look further in to this...
