Scheumann Stadium and the Ball State Cardinals square off with the Northern Illinois Huskies on Friday night.
The Northern Illinois Huskies are still in the running for the MAC title if they can continue their winning ways. The Huskies secured their second straight win with a 28-17 decision over Eastern Michigan as a 17 point road favorite. Both teams finished with around 380 yards with the Huskies doing the vast majority of their damage on the ground with 332 rushing yards. Quarterback Drew Hare didn't do much through the air on an 8-14 effort for 44 yards but he was outstanding running the ball. Drew ran for 166 yards on 13 carries including a 78 yards romp to open the scoring. Joel Bouargnon and Cameron Stingily rounded out the rushing attack with a combined 149 yards on 22 touches with three touchdowns.

Ball State faces Northern Illinois looking to stay on the winning track in week eleven action. The Cardinals are looking for win number three in a row following a 35-21 decision over Akron. This was a game Ball State trailed 21-6 before turning up the defensive pressure with Akron totaling 325 yards with a lost fumble and four interceptions which gave the Cardinals a few short fields which they took advantage of. Jahwan Edwards paced a balanced attack with 121 rushing yards on 24 touches and a touchchdown. Jack Milas gave the Cardinals a productive passing game with 225 yards on 18-36 with Jordan Williams leading the receiving corps with eight catches for 118 yards. The Cardinals didn't rack up the big yards but didn't need to with five Akron giveaways.
The Huskies are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall and are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss while going 8-0-1 ATS in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. For Ball State the over is 7-1 in Cardinals last 8 conference games while the Cardinals are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. Head to head the over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Ball State with the road team going 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings while the Huskies are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Ball State. I'm going with Northern Illinois but I'm not convinced this team is all that great so please check back Thursday for an update...
