The Memphis Tigers and Temple Owls play Friday night at Lincoln Financial Field.

Tevin Jones and Keiwone Malone have combined for more than 600 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Mose Frazier has caught eight of his 21 passes in his last three games. Memphis butters its bread with a ground game that’s averaging 4.3 yards per carry and has 13 running plays of 20 or more yards. Brandon Hayes and Sam Craft have combined for more than 800 rushing yards, and five different Memphis players have at least three rushing touchdowns. Defensively, the Memphis Tigers are allowing 19.4 points, 350.6 yards, and they’ve forced 17 turnovers and 21 sacks. Tank Jakes leads Memphis with 55 tackles and Genard Avery has four sacks.

Memphis at Temple - 11/7/14 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Temple Owls have lost two of their last three games but are still just one win away from clinching a bowl. Temple is a tough minded team that relies on a defense that’s allowing 18.4 points, 370.8 yards, and has forced 24 turnovers and 19 sacks. The Temple Owls have allowed no more than 24 points in their last three home games. Tyler Matakevich leads Temple with 75 tackles and Matt Ioannidis has eight tackles for loss. Offensively, Temple is led by P.J. Walker who i completing 56.2 percent of his passes for 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Walker has one touchdown and two picks in his last two games, and Temple has 16 passing plays of 25 or more yards. Jalen Fitzpatrick and Jahad Thomas have combined for more than 700 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Temple’s ground game is averaging 3.6 yards per carry, as Jahad Thomas leads the way with 362 yards, and Kenneth Harper is coming off a two-touchdown performance.

The Tigers are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 road games and 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Owls are 5-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games overall.

I like Temple and the points at home. The Owls may not be great on the offensive side of the ball, but they're a tough team defensively and will keep this game close to the wire, giving themselves a chance to win outright. Temple and the free touchdown is the way to go here.
